Dr. Becky Reardon

Dr. Becky Reardon was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals and there are very few pictures of her growing up that don’t include some sort of animal. The bond she developed with the cats and dogs she had growing up cemented her decision to become a veterinarian.

She attended the University of Illinois for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees. During her vet school years, she worked in the Parasitology department. She helped with studies that included Lyme disease prevalence, dewormers for horses, flea medications and dog heartworm medication safety studies. One of her favorite memories watching 15 rough coated Collies play together during a study break. However, the amount of brushing that was required that summer convinced her to admire Collies from afar!

Dr. Becky has been married for 27 years. She and her husband Marc have a daughter named Lily who was born just after finals the first year of vet school. They have had Labs and Goldens in the past and currently have a Lab mix and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They also have 3 black and white cats and one orange cat to round out the family. Dr. Becky is hoping that if the cats all are the same color, her husband won’t notice when the new ones come to live with them!

To remain close to family, Dr. Becky chose to practice medicine at the clinic she worked at before vet school and has been there for 18 years. Although she is sad to leave her current clients, she is thrilled with the opportunities that leading Animal Hospital of Woodstock offers. “After looking for 3 years, the combination of doctors who practice high quality medicine, a hard-working professional staff and a community that offers a small town feel with all of the amenities made the decision to join Animal Hospital of Woodstock easy.”
